If there are anymore suggestions, that'll be appreciated.ġ) With AMD Hardware encoding with the streaming resolution at 720p, the game runs on the desktop while streaming at 60 FPS at native resolution of 900p without any drops in frames (unless maybe it is really demanding) BUT the stream the Steam Link receives is only about 20 - 30 FPS max. However, I figure if maybe my CPU was better, then software encoding would have been better as parkerlreed suggested. Games are definitely playable now I guess though it's not the ideal I was hoping for. However, on AMD hardware encoding, the FPS did not really peak as high ~35 for the most. However, the FPS didn't reach the same high but was definitely improved over streaming at 1080pĮxample, I tried Distance on software encoding and was able to peak at 60 FPS (especially in menu's and when staying constant on the track) but dipped to 30 FPS when driving. Leaving the resolution the same and switching to AMD hardware encoding, the encoder did not switch to software encoding at any point during gameplay. Sadly, it wasn't enough to push it to 60 FPS constantly but I was able to at least get a pretty much constant 30 FPS. I enabled software encoding and dropped the resolution down to 720p on beautiful preset and I was able to improve the framerate. I pretty much followed both of you with respect to the advice. Feel free to post here or message me directly. If any one needs any assistance, I can try my best. Here is a good summary of what I did and it worked for me and has stuck ever since. I have seemed to fixed this problem a while now (about a week after posting my previous update) but I forgot to update this post. This is what I've found after a bit of testing. I will do my best to provide any further information required.ĮDIT: I have tried using BETA and Public firmware for Steam and the Steam Link This can be seen in the logs below:īorderlands 1 + The Evil Within (streaming logs): Here are some screenshots while streaming the game onto the TV:īorderlands 1 + The Evil Within (when streaming): Īlso, the game would start by using AMD’s AMF H264 and switch to software encoder when the latency time begins going up (>100ms). However, when I connect with the Steam Link, the streamed video is somewhere between 15 – 30FPS while the actual game is still working at ~60FPS on the desktop as seen by the FRAPS overlay. When I am not streaming, games like Borderlands, The Evil Within, Mafia II, and Distance (to name a few), manage to get 60fps at 900p which is the native resolution of my desktop monitor as seen in the following screenshots:īorderlands 1 + The Evil Within (when not streaming): Here are the settings I am currently using for streaming: The steam link wired to the router via CAT5e cable. Motherboard: Asrock N68-VS3-FX (BIOS Updated) GPU: AMD R9 270X (Sapphire version) - Radeon Software Version 16.12.1 My computer specs are a bit dated but manage very well with the games I play. I received my Steam Link about 4 days ago and I've been getting terrible performance when streaming. Sorry for broken English and thanks to anyone who can help me with this.Hi. I already tested everything on my android phone as well and it doesn't work. I also have enabled the MS Remote Desktop service and I have installed the Parsec service on my PC. I don't have any VPN services enabled (Although installed) and my bandwidth is good enough to stream (The AMD Link app says that the connection is poor but both: My Host PC and my Ipad have a Bandwidth of about 50 Mbits). Although the AMD Radeon settings offer a button to setup the windows firewall,I pressed the button AND configured the Firewall manuallay after pressing the button. I already opened the 2 ports(41110, 58888(UDP, TCP)) for IPv4 and IPv6 on my router. The App doesn't crash and the connection is not terminated as well. If I try to stream my Desktop or my games to my Ipad it loads, the red loading circle is popping up sometimes and then it just crashes. I have set up AMD Link and can connect to it through the internet. First things first: I want to stream my games and/or my Desktop to my Ipad via Internet with AMD Link.
